In light of the recent real estate and mortgage crisis, Credit Union Mortgage Alliance Network (CUMAnet) teamed up with the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Federal Credit Union to conduct a Loan Health Check-Up at the Department of Veteran Affairs in Washington, D.C.
"We called CUMAnet because they are knowledgeable, personable and do a great job. We knew they’d be able to give more insight to our members who had questions about mortgages," said Jamilya Parson, business development specialist for DVA Federal Credit Union.
"We had a great turn-out," Parson commented about the influx of members participating. "The post-event feedback survey results were all very positive. The attendees asked great questions. People were coming out afterwards, telling us how great the information was. Our members undoubtedly walked out with much more insight than they came in with."
"It was quite an honor for the Department of Veteran Affairs to reach out to us," stated Daniel von Schaumburg, president of CUMAnet, "We take pride in the fact that we are a credit union service organization that takes a proactive, positive approach to help its members. Especially during this current market situation, it is important for people to be informed about their different options when it comes to their assets and mortgages."
Over 80 members signed up for the first event, but limited space prompted a second session to be scheduled later this month. Already, 40 members have pre-registered.
